Many of you have noticed that you are having trouble with the ‘tweet this’ button and a few other features on the Sponsored Tweets site. This is due to your use of the Internet Explorer browsers which are not currently supported in Sponsored Tweets.

We may optimize for these in the future, but in order to successfully use the site for the present, please be sure you are connecting to the site with a browser other than IE such as Chrome or Firefox which can both be downloaded free.

If you are not sure if you are using Explorer, we will let you know with a handy pop-up when you connect to Sponsored Tweets.

We want to make sure that you are getting the most out of your experience with us and don’t want you to miss out on Offers, so please be sure that you are connecting to the Sponsored Tweets site with the proper browser.

Keep in Mind the reTweet!

Here’s a little tip for you, something to keep in mind when you’re crafting a Tweet (and this is with any Tweet, not just a Sponsored Tweet):

Always keep in mind that the message you publish could potentially be reTweeted by any of your Followers, or even people that don’t Follow you. One of my biggest pet peeves on Twitter is when I think a message is worth reTweeting, and I want to add a comment to the Tweet but can’t because there’s not enough room:

Yuck! In the example above I’m already down 15 characters. Most of the time when I’m presented with this, I just end-up not reTweeting, unfortunately. I don’t typically feel like taking the time to edit and get the message down to an amount of characters that will accommodate my comment. So see…the Tweeter loses out on having their message shared, along with the additional exposure of their Twitter profile. (Again, in the example above, the Outlets, Pinkberry and @attractions all lose out on additional exposure.)

Of course, if said Tweet is a Sponsored Tweet, then the Advertiser would’ve missed out on having their brand reach a larger audience, and you as the Tweeter may miss out on the opportunity to earn extra money (if the Tweet is a CPC Opp).

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think you’ll take greater note of how you craft your Tweets in the future?

Refer a Friend and Make Some $$$

You like to make money, right? Of course you do, or you wouldn’t be using Sponsored Tweets! Many of you probably already know Sponsored Tweets has a referral program, but for those of you who don’t you can actually earn money doing…well, nothing!

Referring people to Sponsored Tweets is quite simple. First, sign in to your account. On the right-hand side of the page you’ll see a button that reads “join our referral program”:

Next, click the button and you’ll then be taken to a page explaining how the referral program works. Here you can also keep track of the people you’ve referred (“people you’ve referred” tab). To start referring, all you have to do is grab the link featured in the “your link” section of the page. NOTE: Do not use the link featured in the following image (unless you want your referral money to come to me). It is a unique tracking link and will not earn you money.

Seriously, does making money get any easier?! I think not!

When referring someone please keep in mind:

You will not earn any money until your referral makes a successful transaction.
You can sign someone up as an Advertiser and earn %5 of their transactions.
Referral money cannot be earned on promotional campaigns.
There are badges available for you to use, if you have a blog or website to post them on.

Fashionably Fresno Tweetup

Cashing Out Your Sponsored Tweets Earnings

Cashing out earnings in Sponsored Tweets is a fairly simple process. We still field many questions about it though, through the Sponsored Tweets Twitter account, so I thought I’d make a quick rundown of how the process works. Hopefully it’ll help those who may be confused, unaware, or have questions.

First of all, we pay our Twitter Publishers through PayPal. If you don’t already have a PayPal account set-up then visit http://paypal.com right now and get that done. You may not need it today but you will eventually. Go ahead…we’ll wait for you!

OK, now that you’ve got your PayPal all taken care of, let’s move on to your Sponsored Tweets account. Sign-in to your account using you Twitter handle (we do not store this information; we connect with the Twitter API*.) Once you’ve successfully signed-in, in the top righthand of your account you should see a “Withdraw” button that looks like this (using my account as an example):

As you can see, I have $11.04 sitting in my account. “But I thought I had to have earned at least $50 before I could cash out?” you might be asking yourself. Well, that’s no longer true! About two weeks ago we started offering “early” cash-out, with a $2 fee attached. So now you can take money any time you want!

If you’re ready, go ahead and click on that “Withdraw” button, and you should then see a screen like this:

At this point, just fill-out all the requested information on this screen and the next…and you’re on your way!

The last screen you’ll see is the one confirming payment. Congrats! Now you’ve got some extra cash in your pocket: buy some ice cream, catch a Lady Gaga show, or put it away for that European trip you’ve been saving for!

The Importance of Keywords

For as long as the Sponsored Tweets platform has been live, I’m still somewhat surprised that many Tweeters are unaware that 1) there is a “Keywords” feature in their profile and that 2) this is one of the primary ways Advertisers perform targeting for their campaigns.

So I thought perhaps a short overview of the “keywords” feature might help Tweeters get better–and more–offers, and also clear-up any confusion there might be. I’ll provide my personal Sponsored Tweets profile as an example.

First, you want to sign-in to your account. NOTE: Once you sign-in, the “Opportunities” tab will be defaulted open, so click on the “My Account” tab to view the details of your account:

Once in the “My Account” tab, you should see something similar to this:

They keywords are in the very bottom field, highlighted in green. Obviously your keywords will look different than mine, because it’s highly likely you don’t Tweet about the same exact things I do. So, consider some of the topics you regularly Tweet about, and enter in those keywords to your profile. The numbers listed beside each keyword refer to the other Tweeters in the system who are using the same keyword(s).

You can only include 10 keywords, so think carefully about the subjects you talk about. And make sure these keywords are ones that are going to be relevant to your audience. I often talk about food, entertainment, Orlando, music, and humor (at least things I think are funny!), so my keywords reflect that.) Remember, the sponsored Tweets should be about things that are going to add value to your Followers. After all, you want them to be interested in your Tweets, and this will in-turn provide the most value to the Advertiser hiring you (and return for you, particularly if the Tweet is a Cost Per Click Opp).

I strongly urge you to sign-in to your Sponsored Tweets account as soon as you can, and make sure that you not only have keywords in place, but that the keywords are terms you regularly Tweet about and are relevant to both you and your audience. It could mean causing you to miss Opportunities if you don’t.

Once you have input keywords into your profile you’re increasing your chances of receiving Opportunities by far!

What is ClickWatch?

Though information on ClickWatch is available in the “Help” section of SponsoredTweets.com, we still get many inquires–primarily via Twitter–about what exactly it is. So I thought I’d post details about the ClickWatch program here. Feel free to ask if you’re confused about anything – you may also find additional information in our Support Forums. While reviewing this, please keep in mind the ClickWatch program is voluntary and Tweeters do not have to participate if they don’t want to.

ClickWatch is a program designed to provide a level of protection for advertisers who engage Tweeters in the SponsoredTweets marketplace. When a Tweeter participating in ClickWatch makes a sponsored tweet the system checks the click performance of that tweet after 48 hours. If the cost per click (CPC) for that tweet is above $1.50 the system will request that Tweeter to make another Tweet. The system will check performance again after another 48 hours and request a 3rd tweet if necessary.

Each ClickWatch participant will share a message up to three times over 6 days. Once the $1.50 threshold is met the system will no longer request another tweet.

Process Overview

If a Sponsored Tweet fails to meet the minimum CPC requirement a Tweeter will receive a DM or Email notifying them.
The Tweeter must come back to SponsoredTweets.com and write a new Tweet for the advertiser. The copy must be different from the first tweet to meet Twitter’s duplicate content requirement.
The new tweet will be sent to the advertiser for approval just like the first tweet was.
In the event that a tweeter fails to make good and write a ClickWatch tweet they will automatically lose their ClickWatch status for a period of 60 days.

If you are a Tweeter:

You have the option not to participate in ClickWatch via your dashboard controls. Existing users will have this option turned on, you will need to disable it if you don’t wish to participate.

If you are an Advertiser:

You will know a Tweeter is willing to “make good” on tweets by seeing an icon by that user if they are participating in the ClickWatch program.
