A few weeks ago we launched PRO accounts. Since that time we have been monitoring your feedback on the feature and gathering data from our system. While many people are excited by the concept, a good portion of you simply feel the price was too much.
You spoke. We listened. We made changes.
Effective today we are dropping the price of PRO accounts from $9.99 a month to a more appropriate $1.99 a month. This will retroactively effect those that signed up under the higher price. We feel that this price is well within reach of most people who want to more actively market themselves to advertisers for sponsorship opportunities. Regular accounts will always remain free.
We truly appreciate your feedback. You can expect other changes and enhancements to PRO accounts in the coming weeks. Thank you for being part of the community.

Great price reduction! This is really awesome. However, I have yet to receive any offers since signed up for a PRO account. Do you predict something happening soon?

Jenn said on 5.10.11 at 5:46 pm
I do love the new price but i would like to make a suggestion. Could you please make it so that we could pay from our account balance so that we dont have to pay with a credit card. I would gladly pay with my account funds, but not with my credit card or debit card.
Guido said on 5.10.11 at 5:47 pm
While the price reduction is a good response from SpTwts, the whole concept is still a slap in the face to members that have been faithfully tweeting ops in the past! Paying for preference is just bad! SpTwts was already doing a disservice to regular members in the old two-tier system with the emphasis on "celebrity" twits, now we are delegated to the lowest rung of a three-tier system ... what's next? Even further demotion of members who want to just earn from posting ads in their tweets and not pay for the supposed privilege?!

Hey there. Great news on the price drop. I thought that the $9.99/mo price was too steep but this is definitely manageable. Also, I agree with Jenn. If we have funds available in our account, why can we not use those funds to upgrade?

tedmurphy said on 5.10.11 at 6:19 pm
@Guido
The reality is that there are simply too many tweeters for advertisers to sort through. This problem is no different than using ebay to sell an item. You can choose to list your item as a standard listing or pay for an enhanced listing to give your product more visibility and rank higher.
Same with oDesk. Basic listings are free, enhanced listings cost money.
This is not a new concept in the marketplace model. Sellers often pay a fee to market themselves to buyers.
tedmurphy said on 5.10.11 at 6:20 pm
@Jenn
Your credit card is a backup. The system will take from your balance first, then use your credit card if there is not enough money in your account.

Love said on 5.10.11 at 6:47 pm
Nice move. Now there'll be an increase in the nummber of PRO accounts.
Nways, tweeters are still insecure about the monthly payment. Why dont SpTwts make a money back guarantee system? Like if a member dont earn the amount her pay then 50 percent of the money will be given back or so.
Btw, there should also be some more attractive schemes for the advertisers too!

So far PRO status is working well for me. I've gotten more offers and took advantage of the lower cashout requirement and received my first Paypal payment. I wasn't sure if I'd continue with it beyond the 30 day trial but for $1.99 now I know I will. I just hope that if many more users convert to PRO it won't dilute the meaning in the eyes of the advertisers.

I am willing to spend $1.99 month. I am not sure if this PRO account will bring me more opps. I just hope it will. If you guys don't like it then do not go for it. This is just an option. If this will not bring you more profitable then cancel your PRO account. You can cancel it every time you want.
Joe said on 5.11.11 at 1:32 am
Sorry I don't see the value. Why pay you to send me offers that are lame and very low pay and click value.
After growing 70k plus followers the offer have dropped and the clicks on the offer drop off too. While at the same time the links I send to my followers are getting clicks and getting results.
Why pollute your twitter stream with someone else's message?

I strongly agree with "Carl". During my free account, I only got 3 offers and couldn't even make $1 for the whole month. I guess if I sign-up for the Pro-Account, I will be loosing more money than earning. Can't something be done?
sim said on 5.11.11 at 5:48 am
The price reduction is nice, but it seems me that most members were (and still are) complaining about having to give out their Credit Card information.
As soon as you allow the PayPal option instead of Credit Cards, I am sure a ton of people will sign up right away.
Though they would probably only try it out for a month and then go back to free accounts.
This is because you are not offering enough features.
At the moment, you are offering 2 features: lower payout and more offers.
Yet the people who have PRO accounts are reporting that they have not been getting more offers, so that just leaves the lower payout feature.
But if you are paying a fee to get a PRO account and cash out early, it is basically the same as paying the usual fee to cash out early.
So, there are really no useful features with the PRO accounts yet.
I would suggest thinking up something new if you want people to keep their PRO accounts after the first month.

Why is my country(Romania) invalid for an PRO Account?
S.G said on 5.11.11 at 6:58 am
The price reduction is very tempting but if you make the option to pay from the account balance rather than credit card then that would be great! We Indian users cannot use PayPal to pay for Pro-account so the more better option is that if you take away the money from our account balance!
Please give it a thought because I would love to join as a Pro member!
Tilen Hrovatic said on 5.11.11 at 8:12 am
This is a great news. I think that new price is acceptable for everybody. But consider adding PayPal as a payment option. A lot more users would join the new program if they would have this option.

I just started up. At this new price I would be interested in going PRO however like many others, I'm not fond of handing out my credit info., especially since I have only seen 18 cents and that is pending. I would join if you offered Paypal payments.
Also, I am not sure how you guys are going to pay me. I haven't had a chance on the website to list any payments received options. I see others are getting paid through their Paypal accounts however I haven't been given this or any other option. What have I missed? The email address I use for Twitter is different than my Paypal account so how do I set this up.
I would go PRO with Paypal payments and some features that guarentee more offers for me to exploit.
sim said on 5.12.11 at 4:46 pm
@Carri - glad to hear it! I will be looking forward to seeing what you guys think up.
@Agni - when you want to get paid, press the 'Withdraw' button. It is right below the 'logout' button.
After you press 'Withdraw', you will be asked to enter your information: your name and paypal email, plus country and some other info depending on which country you live in.
Since you only have $.18, you won't be able to withdraw just yet.
You have to reach $50 before you can withdraw without paying a fee.
In order to withdraw any money before that, you must pay a $2 fee. Or if you have the PRO accounts, you can withdraw at $25.

I found it slightly insulting to charge me to be an advertiser. Especially since my tweets are sent in multiple locations thanks to linking.
PS - I didn't *Grab and Avatar* because I didn't want to get on a spamming site for a photo. I have tons of my own!

Hands down Mylikes is still leading the way they have more offers and generally from better advertisers (AOL/Google/ etc) and they do not charge any payout fee and you can realistically make more money then Sponsoredtweets will ever make you.

Like the new change. I just upgraded and expect great things. I can say this, that over the last few months I get many offers everyday so I am hoping that offers that are received will increase with the pro.
One item. Many of the offers I have lost are becasue I have changed the original ad because it exceeded the 140 characters permitted by Twitter. Usually removed URL's that are often placed in the ad and a lot of words that are just wordy. Will visit the site to get a feel for what is offered. It has been an interesting and fun challange!

Great move, Ted, and thanks. I signed up within the first couple days to see if it'd be worth the price. At this point I believe I've broken even based on at the original price, but that's just a guess. At any rate it didn't seem to be worth losing $10 a month, so I was going to cancel before the trial period ended unless things really picked up.
Doesn't look like I'll need to now! I'm saying with it. Good sense of awareness by you and your staff, Mister Murphy! You continue to make ST a worthwhile, fun diversion. Thanks!

I have noticed a lot of folks sharing that they are not gettting many offers. I have just started to decline offers. I usually get 3-4 offers a day and even more. I find that one must work with their key words and also the content of their twitter account.
I have noticed only a small increase since I have gone pro. Right now as long as the number of ads provided pay for my pro and puts money into my pocket I am willing to keep the pro status.
If you can not provide the ability to pay via Paypal then the next option would be to take the pro pay from the balance that an individual has in their account.

Is it because you preferthe money in your account rather than mine.
At the rate I am earning it will be somewhere around 2134 before I reach $50.

I'm an advertiser and I would LOVE to pay people who have a lot of followers money for tweets to promote our website, especially if it's a celebrity, but this website is so confusing and offers very little info on how it actually works?!?!
I don't want to sign up for an account until I know the rates, average CTR, number of twitters etc.
In theory, it looks like old fashioned affiliate program for social network, I love the idea ... Just wanna know MORE.

2) Pay all money in account balance WEEKLY instead of after $50.00
We actually get a better cash flow from MyLikes because they pay every week. So we get cashed out very fast instead of waiting for a month or two to get 50 bucks (with no interest paid on the balance).
How about it?
Thank you.
