It hardly seems like these referral challenges are fair considering that the people with a couple thousand followers are S-O-L when up against people with tens of thousands of followers.

  2. Henrik Blunck said on 2.2.10 at 5:26 pm

Congratz to Showmoney for winning the contest. Enjoy. :-)

  3. jtGraphic said on 2.2.10 at 5:28 pm

@Trisha I think that's totally true. They should reward the best conversion or something. Of course ShoeMoney would win... :P

  4. Colin Dean said on 2.2.10 at 5:31 pm

Agreed with Trisha. The people who would benefit most from this contest had no chance, because they simply don't have the audience. Shoemoney and John Chow and the like already have such a massive following that trying to beat them at their own game is futile.

    Congrats. Enjoy to Apple gear.

@Trisha @jtGraphic @Colin Some of the top referrers behind Jeremy actually have nowhere near the quantity of his Followers, they just worked really hard to promote themselves and Sponsored Tweets! But thanks for your input - we always value it.

  8. Arron Lorenz said on 2.2.10 at 6:14 pm

    That was...

    Well...

    Boring.

I'm sure Shoe is just going to give the stuff away again on his blog.

Agreed with everyone, I knew he would win anyway. Why not have a lets give a bunch of stuff to shoe while all you worker bees dream you could win something. Pathetic, I could really use this stuff too. I seriously feel like crying, maybe this should be a random draw or something. I know it helps them with his audience, but bigger is not always better. Smaller more intimate groups are more loyal. I also am guilty of being very jealous, did I mention I could really use these? :0) Take care everyone, peace

    Dear haters,

We busted our asses to win this contest. We implemented the API on almost all of our websites and also built some brand new twitter properties to help promote this (that you never heard of).

I am extremely compeditive and I love apple stuff.

So yes.... I will tell you right now I will win every time anyone has a contest like this. Not just Izea =P

I never made 1 post to my twitter account or my blog.

What websites did you guys build? What ways did you implement the api?

You will always have excuses to fail. But because I have a lot of twitter followers has nothing to do with the fact I won.

    Congratulations, ShoeMoney! Well earned!

To the whiners: No, large quantity is not enough to win a competition. Large quality beats it every time.

I know - I've won a competition myself about getting the most leads with a very small list. It depends on the work you put behind. It depends on your effort.

And btw, ShoeMoney wasn't born with a big list of Twitter followers, was he?

Stop whining - take action - win!

  14. jtGraphic said on 2.3.10 at 12:45 pm

Haha, didn't mean to come off as a hater :P

Totally jealous!! Great win, congrats!! :)

Something not right with this contest...Its not a hating thing...6 apple product going to one person, the picture doest look right.

I wouldn't even attempt such contest if ShoeMoney in it... Shoemoney education equivalence on online marketing and advertising is equal to 10 PHD...

Most of the things these guys do, they can't talk about it...Its a unspoken language between them.

A random contest of some sort will be best next time...

  17. ashley said on 2.3.10 at 3:13 pm

@Paul As I mentioned before, the folks right behind ShoeMoney don't have near the Twitter Followers he does, so to me that's just a testimony to how much they wanted to win...and put much effort behind promoting the contest.

  18. Wil Ford, U.S.M.C. said on 2.3.10 at 9:09 pm

    Shoe,

Before I continue, I would like to congratulate you for a job well done. You have "the skills that pay the bills." I truly mean that, Shoe. You rock, bro.

Regarding the legitimate complaints of the "haters" here, you ought to realize that many of our fellow Sponsored Tweeters do not "UNDERSTAND" why you won the MegaMac Challenge: your usage of API technology.

Yes, they know you are a "Web Celeb" who is highly proficient in online marketing; however, they do not "UNDERSTAND" why you won. Moreover, they do not know that you implemented an application programming interface to elicit the outstanding result for which you have worked. Truthfully, I do not agree agree that you have "busted" you hump in doing so. Wink! Wink! Wink! :-)

Shoe, please re-read their comments until you fully comprehend what they are trying to convey. Please avoid lecturing them in an angry tone. Instead, be a hero and simply "educate" them about your harnessing the power of accessing a web-based software application.

The MegaMac Challenge is, beyond doubt and without question, one of IZEA exciting contests. In fact, both you and I were among the top 20 finalists in the first Supatweeta Referral Challenge, in which Zac Johnson won a trip to the Dominican Republic.

Despite the fact I did not won, I have since recused myself from the most of past great contests. I realize that many of the Sponsored Tweeters here felt "shut out" in winning those past contests. Yes, I truly understand their collective frustration.

As many you might have recalled, Zac, Joel Comm, John Chow, you, I and 16 other finalists were poised to win the coveted Caribbean trip. The first Supatweeta Referral Challenge was indeed a great experience for me here at SponsoredTweets.com, where I have earned a lot of "pesos" tweeting short messages. I still feel honored to ranked among you and the other 18 finalists. To me SponsoredTweets.com is a fun community in which I can tweet for cash and enter cool contests.

Because I want to afford fellow Sponsored Tweeters a chance to win, I have opted to "slow down" my referral campaign. I realize many wonderful people here in our great community would like a chance to WIN, too. Yes, I fully "understand" their frustration, Shoe.

Although I can relate to their frustration, I do believe that they "hate" you... yet. In fact, I am taken aback that you have responded so harshly to their rational comments. I fear you have only heightened their disgust and solidified whatever perception they hold. Nonetheless, I hope this lenghtly comment will alleviate everyone's anxieties.

To ensure our fellow Sponsored Tweeters success, perhaps you would agree that you should recuse yourself from the next and future contests. Because of my past performance in Supatweeta Referral Challenge I, have recused myself. I can imagine my being vilified as well if I "won" almost every contest. However, I do admire you "aggressive" drive to win!

Please note that no one here is more deserving or better qualified than any member here in the Sponsored Tweet community. You just "admitted" to them that you have an "unfair" advantage: API rocks! I should know, I am a "low rent" Web property developer. I own and operate the Wil's Domain blog directory as well as owning and running an unannounced, secret "underground blogging network" of 100,000-plus bloggers... the end result of Wil's Domain!

Because of that "unfair" advantage, I have recused myself from MegaMac Challenge.

Shoe, I have a conscious. I would love to see the "small fry" Sponsored Tweeters here win, too. ;-)

Be a hero, dude. Recuse yourself "once in a while." Let others here taste success, resulting in trust building and a greater love of being part of this awesome tweet community. :-)

Lastly, I would like to congratulate once again, Shoe. You truly rock. I truly mean that, bro. Take care of yourself. Be happy. You are the greatest.

P.S. To the many wonderful people here, I apologize for the lengthy comment. Please disregard Shoe's ranting. He was probably angry when he posted his rebuttal to your reasonable complaints. The man just love to dominate.

P.S.S. Please realize that Shoe is using "cutting edge technologies" to win contests here.

P.S.S.S. I strongly disagree with Shoe's statement: "You will always have excuses to fail." No one here in the Sponsored Tweets Community is a failure. The truth is that many of you do not "understand" how to use API to your advantage. I must confess that he has an "unfair" advantage about which you ALL do not have a "clue."

P.S.S.S.S. Let me life inspired you. I am a 100% disabled whom VA doctors in 1998 saved my life. I later found out Hhow blessed I am. I don't use my disability as an excuse to avoid finding my purpose in life. Amazingly, I am a self taught Web property developers who love programming, blogging, and participating with great people online, many of whom I help FREE of charge. In essence, I have absolutely "NO excuses" to fail.

P.S.S.S.S.S. I am "paying it forward" as a testimony to the outstanding VA medical staff, each of whom are responsible for saving my life. I am so humbled to be a part of humankind. My words of advice to each of you here in the Sponsored Tweets community is NEVER give up. Don't let anyone here deter you from achieving your dreams. Don't let anyone here DRIVE you away from our community. We ALL are one here. Without one, the rest of us here are missing a very important person who deserves to be here... no matter where you live in the world.

P.S.S.S.S.S.S. SposoredTweets.com is a viable opportunity for one to earn extra cash. Don't let the fear of failure get in your way. Keep working hard like I have until you find the way to profitability. If anyone here needs FREE guidance, contact me. Heck... I would be an honor to prove that you so-called "haters" are NOT failures.

P.S.S.S.S.S.S.S. I am Wil Ford. I am a disabled United States Marine who is paying it forward. Stay motivated. Encourage each other. Let's make SponsoredTweets.com more successful in 2010. Please don't be discouraged! If a disbaled U.S Marine like me can tough it out, you "healthy" Sponsored Tweeters can, too. PEACE! :-)

  19. Wil Ford, U.S.M.C. said on 2.3.10 at 9:20 pm

    Ooops! I goofed...

I meant to post the following statement:

"Although I can relate to their frustration, I "DO NOT" believe that they "hate" you... yet."

Take care, everyone. Don't give up. Keep tweeting and have fun.

Wil Ford, a disabled United States Marine who is "paying it forward."

  20. The Poker Jerk said on 2.4.10 at 3:57 am

LOL what a bunch of crybabies! You know full and well that you shouldn't bother entering a contest like this unless you have a huge mailing list, twitter followers (real ones, not spammers like yourselves), and RSS readers to spam.

You are wasting your time, while at the same time, since most of the people you would have referred would have already come here by way of Shoe or John Chow or whoever else. And the very few people who got to sign up probably wouldn't sell a single tweet anyway.

So to all the whiners expecting something for nothing: STOP WHINING! Go out and build your own spam list and win the next contest!

  21. joe said on 2.5.10 at 4:10 pm

Shoe, really it is not bad enough you win the prizes but then you and cronies have to rub it in about how much better you are than the unmotivated small unwashed masses. Humility and staying above the fold are better virtues to have than being a blow hard who toots their own horn while the masses jeer.

  22. Julie Bryant said on 2.5.10 at 4:48 pm

Wow, Wil -- what a perfect response. Love and understanding AND compassion for EVERYONE. This is the kind of soul that everyone can understand. I'm new to this game and honestly haven't got a clue as to what the whole API thing is about. I am bombarded daily by so many "internet gurus" that my confusion level is mega. I like Shoe, for the record -- but dude, if you're telling people you will always win -- what's the point for other people who haven't got your skill set? It seems to me that there could be two tiers of contests -- one for the guys like Shoe who have the advantage of skill, brains, timing, large lists, blah blah etc. Then perhaps you could run another contest for the regular people just starting out, and split up all those prizes.

I didn't do this contest; I just came in the site to start the advertising program, which is just up my alley and good to hear from Wil it pays over time -- I just earned my first $2 -- oh yeah!). The thing is, people like contests, people like to think they have the chance to win -- and if you know right off the bat that you are up against internet superstars, there just isn't much reason to do it.

Soooo Sponsoredtweets, you might think about splitting in too so Shoe can always win his part of it (nudge nudge wink wink) and others can fight it out over what's left. Just a suggestion.

  23. Julie Bryant said on 2.5.10 at 4:49 pm

um, I meant "splitting in two", sheesh.

  24. FerreeMoney said on 2.7.10 at 1:37 pm

I wasn't even a close 2nd. So that means I'm gonna keep an eye out for what and how Shoe Money is doing his thing so Ferree Money can hang with the big dogs too!

    Shoe said:
    Dear haters,

    ...

I never made 1 post to my twitter account or my blog.

Does that include the RT which was required under the rules? The rules said you had to click the RT button. That post was only RT'd about 1,300 times, so.... did you RT it or not and can someone verify that he did?

  26. Jeff Kee said on 2.14.10 at 8:58 pm

If it's true Shoe's gonna give some of it away on his blog anyways (which a lot of the internet celebs like Chow and Shoe do..) it trickles down anyways... a perfect Capitalist model I can agree and play with!

    Complaining won't get anything anyways...

Mark my words.. your days are numbered on the internet.

I am not sure why you entail a huge following of retards.. People should research and look into things themselves instead of buying into your POS shoemoney system. You are just another greedy slimeball.
