The number one question we get from Tweeters is “How do I get more offers?” As the marketplace has grown it has become harder for those with smaller audiences to grab the attention of advertisers, even if their CPC and FAR deliver a strong return on investment. Today we are rolling out a system designed to help all levels of professional tweeters gain more visibility while simultaneously helping advertisers identify tweeters who take their sponsorship seriously.

When you log into you will notice a new PRO button. Clicking this button brings you through the signup process to upgrade your account to PRO. PRO accounts are $9.95 $1.99 per month and have three core benefits:

Try it Free for 30 Days

All users are invited to try a PRO account free for 30 days (credit card required). The fee for PRO accounts will be deducted from your balance. If your balance won’t cover the fee we use your credit card as a backup. You can cancel your PRO account at any time. Our hope is that the additional exposure and lower cash out makes SponsoredTweets an even more profitable social media sponsorship marketplace for you.

Your Cost Per Tweet, FAR and CPC still matter

While a PRO account can help you get more exposure that exposure will only help if your cost and historical performance are in line. Be sure to check out your suggested price in your account settings.

Not interested in a PRO account? No problem! Basic accounts will always be free.

Interesting to see how sponsored tweets have developed in recent months. And this step will also increase interest in top rated tweeters.

Can we use multiple accounts within the same dashboard with a pro account?

  3. Eric Bisson said on 4.27.11 at 12:31 pm

    Nice :) Now I have a question:
Will you also "upgrade' the referral program to take in account Pro user that we refer? Or implement a separate affiliate program for the new Pro status?

I love the idea of using a PRO account BTW :)

  4. Terry said on 4.27.11 at 12:34 pm

I also love this idea. I am sure this would help get the site more visibility and traffic

What am I missing? How is the pro account free for 30 days if you are taking the fee from our balance or CC if the balance doesn't cover it?

  15. RealityTVFan said on 4.27.11 at 2:25 pm

OK free for 30 days THEN you start charging - get it now :)

Will give it a try but will probably wait a few months until everyone else's free trials have expired first.

Looks like there may be an issue for some of our international community. We are going to do an update this week to include international support for PRO accounts.

  17. The Padrino said on 4.27.11 at 3:55 pm

I may try it free for 30 days and see if i get more offers if not it's not worth the additional 9.95.I charge 2.99 per tweet and have over 50,000 followers and I'm only earning around 20-25 dollars a month here.

  18. tedmurphy said on 4.27.11 at 4:12 pm

UPDATE : We have added international support.

Why don't you explain how Sponsored Tweets works? I get email, I click on the link and I just don't know what to do after that. I have noticed that some other folks have the same problem too.

Explain step by step what we receive in email and what we should do when we click on the link in the email. I am at a loss here.

  22. DarkprinceArmon said on 4.27.11 at 4:56 pm

I'm not seeing the benefit. You get to pay to be a pro with out actually being one? Should not a Pro be something you earn for time and post delivered? If I'm making 100.00 a month without being a pro, why would I want to pay you 9.00 a month just to get a badge. I just don't get it. Its not that its not a nice idea, but I don't see the real benefits outside of a lower cash out with out paying the 2.00 min fee (provided you actually make more that 36.00 at the end of the entrance month.) I mean I have done business with other sites that pay out way less and never charge a astronomical fee.

  23. Guido said on 4.27.11 at 4:59 pm

So now they want us to pay them to be able to tweet ... sponsored tweets is going the wrong direction!

Right direction would be to get inline with other sites and lower the cashout to say $10 for everybody!

  24. Carri said on 4.27.11 at 5:10 pm

    Hi @Lisa,

Your Sponsored Tweets account shows the price you are asking per tweet, the public page shows the total cost to an Advertiser which includes your price plus our commission.

    All the Best,

  25. tedmurphy said on 4.27.11 at 5:11 pm

    @celluar deals
Yes, if you try it you can always go back. Cancel at any time. No cost for the 30 day trial.

We have seen that people in the past with the "staff picks" badge earned significantly more than those without it because they floated to the top of the list and had a special designation. It is a question of visibility to advertisers. It is no different than paying for an upgrade to your listing on a site like ebay.

Again, regular accounts will always remain free. If you don't see a benefit to a PRO account you don't have to upgrade.

I'm not so sure it's a good idea to pay someone to work for them. I've been looking for opportunities to make a little extra money, but not to pay them to work for them. I've signed on as an affiliate to advertise others' products, etc and got paid for either the presentation or a commission for being the influence for that sale.

  28. Ryan said on 4.27.11 at 11:31 pm

So, now we have to pay to work?

  29. Hayato said on 4.27.11 at 11:36 pm

This is the worst idea in the world. I'm sure after a month (2 or 3), will be many people who closed his/her account. why? because the advertisers would prefer a pro account. for those who don't want to upgrade his/her account will not get opportunities and finally close his/her account. only two choices, increase the account so you will get many opportunities or close your account because you just get a little opportunities may be 0.02-0.04/ppc per 2 day or more. 0.10/ppc or more for pro account.

  30. gunter said on 4.28.11 at 1:54 am

So - if I am not wrong - you want me to pay to be able to make money ?
Getting about 1 or 2 "opportunities" / month why will this work ?
Why don't you make packages like "100 opportunities" for 25 $ and so on ????

  31. technoword said on 4.28.11 at 3:23 am

I agree with Hayato. I'm sure Sponsored Tweets has good intentions in helping us upgrade. Still, advertisers will start turning to Pro accounts.

  37. @LillyGrillzit said on 4.28.11 at 8:47 am

This new idea reminds me of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In order for Tom to recruit help to do a job he was given, he made it seem so fun, he "allowed" his friends to whitewash a part of the fence for a little money.

No offense, but we are using our creativity and friend base to tweet for advertisers. We do not know what our return will be, already this is a risk, I am willing to take.

To whitewash your fence, and pay you for me to do it, is an odd program. Some people will go for it. I will not be interested, but good try.

  39. Tilen Hrovatic said on 4.28.11 at 9:09 am

I agree, PayPal would be a better way to pay for PRO accounts.

  40. Benjamin Kerensa said on 4.28.11 at 12:10 pm

This is kinda stupid in my opinion considering you are still not going to be rotated into the main sponsored tweet page where they put their "web celebs" and "real celebs" all you are going to get is a badge and higher placement among the regular users.

    This is not winning.

  41. Jarret said on 4.28.11 at 12:33 pm

In other words, there will be even less ads for you if your not a Pro member. (they already started to disappear)

Why would most of us go pro if were struggling to get ANY offers or ads? Doesn't make sense to spend $9 monthly when you make less than that in 6mo ..

Making Sooo much more on other sites as it is.

  42. pamela ann said on 4.28.11 at 7:09 pm

I do not like this AT ALL....There are already too many sponsors pulling ads, withdrawing them , and we lose the money!!

  43. Andrej said on 4.29.11 at 2:22 am

Idea is rather interesting, but there is some troubles

I have a question. I'm trying to register for my trial, but getting an error "Wrong Country" (country is choosen from the list). Does there any limitations on PRO member's country?

  44. Love said on 4.29.11 at 3:31 am

Its a great idea that will surely help both advertiser & tweeters.

I checked my Sponsoredtweets account and realized that we can upgrade our account on through cards. Just one request, please make it possible to upgrade account through paypal/alertpay, or the ability to upgrade account using the money earned from sponsoredtweets itself. It help both the tweeter & the sponsoredtweets team by reducing the transaction charges.

  45. MalindiSEO said on 4.29.11 at 3:51 am

I do not wish to pay anyone to give me a job! If advertisers can't recognize my creativity, I rather just stick with MyLikes alone and let them go away with their adverts. I can foresee SponsoredTweets heading direction.

  46. hayato said on 4.29.11 at 6:17 am

im back. i have 40 sponsoredtweets account and every 2 day i get 1 PPT/ account , i set my price $0.5/acc so, every 2 day, my earning 40 x$0.5= $20.00 from PPT or $600.00/month, but two month ago.. until now.. i get 1 PPT/week. :( why ? may be because they want to launching pro acc ?

This is a bad idea for both advertisers and tweeters. it's like you trying to trap advertisers.

if you want to give a pro account , you should use this criteria and FREE :
    1. an account must have a good record of PPC/CPC.
so they can go to PRO account.
    2. active users. opportunities reject <30%
    3. at least once withdraw.

if you ask everyone in the world, what is the meaning of pro ? they will answer PROFESIONAL. not something you can pay to become one.

i think if it will be better if you change the name not PRO but PREMIUM.

spntwts has stooped to new low with this supposed "pro" acct, ops have been non-existent other than the 2cent dealtaker and the butt-bra thing that just will not go away, and now they want us to pay $9/mo to tweet! 6 months and I am still waiting to make first cashout on this least the "likes" site pays weekly and their pay/click is higher too! ...wonder how they manage that???

  50. SMS said on 4.29.11 at 4:31 pm

Same here! The CPC is just 2 cents which is 'somewhat' reasonable. But the amount of offers is almost nil. Just an offer per week! And above that, the new pro account system will make things worse! You are right, its actually Premium account!

Its now 4 months and still stuck around $7. Dont know how to pay for pro account per month!

This will surely benifit many people but will surely hurt more!

  51. duaneconder said on 4.29.11 at 6:02 pm

in addition to a flat monthly rate, consider a tier system: 3 mos., 6 mos., 12 mos. w/a rate system that offers incentives... if you had a 12 month plan (at a discounted rate) and accepted paypal, i'd sign up today.

  52. Brad said on 4.29.11 at 7:19 pm

It's a little disappointing I've been scratching away towards getting more op's and getting referrals etc to help, and now not only does everyone go free to pro for the 1st month which won't show anything because everyone will do it. Then the next month most of the earnings i just made will go to pay the membership... So when should i expect to see a point to promoting this site?

  68. Jared Wilkes said on 5.4.11 at 3:29 pm

Not worth it. It takes Izea a year to deliver us a worthwhile offer generating $30 to $50. Why should we pay $120 / year to earn $50. Simple Math is not that difficult.

I'll stick with MyLikes as that generates us about $10 / week or ~ $50 / month without charging us anything. And they pay once you have $2 in your account.

    Get real!

  69. Altair said on 5.4.11 at 3:58 pm

    You got it right Jared!
Mylikes is way outproducing Sponsored Tweets and they payout in an honest and reasonable fashion! Sptweets can't even get enough quality ops to their members to generate the $10/month for the pro account. And Sptweets already takes a bigger chunk of the costs of tweets to begin with and now they are greedy enough to take more with this pro thing.

No big surprise that they are not responding to this thread because the thinking members all see it is a rip-off!

  70. Benjamin Kerensa said on 5.4.11 at 11:49 pm

I totally agree mylikes is better and way outperforms in frequent offers and weekly payouts.

  71. Sim said on 5.5.11 at 1:00 am

You guys are all wrong about MyLikes paying you once you reach $2.00. They changed that.

Now they pay you when you reach $1.00. I suppose you were all so busy earning money with MyLikes you failed to notice this! ;)

  72. Alice said on 5.5.11 at 3:20 am

  73. dilly said on 5.6.11 at 8:17 pm

I have had a pro account for 2 weeks and have not got any offers. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? After my free trail I'm canceling my account! Thought I would make more money or get more offers based on being a "pro" account! I'm acctually doing worse than when I had an basic account! NOT A GOOD LOOK! I have 120k followers & no offers! Moving on to mylikes! Ciao

  74. dean said on 5.7.11 at 12:52 pm

well sounds like a scam really. I mean, why do you need my credit card? I figure having more offers will make me money, but in the end I don't get it, I've got to pay a monthly fee to you guys... Sounds like a pimp game to me.

This is more compelling idea for advertisers who are powerful in this scenario and not good for tweeters who are more in numbers and weak in terms of bargaining power compared with advertisers

  81. Lua said on 6.7.11 at 6:33 pm

I am somewhat confused by this:

"Your Sponsored Tweets account shows the price you are asking per tweet, the public page shows the total cost to an Advertiser which includes your price plus our commission."

The commission seems to be the same as what I am paid. If I charge $8 p/tweet (which ST recommended) then the advertiser would be paying $16 p/tweet?

Has this always been the case? or is this new w/the PRO version?

  82. Rachael said on 6.12.11 at 10:49 pm

Is it just me, or is it really odd that we can't pay for a Pro account with PayPal. I would probably try it out for a few months, but I refuse to use my credit card with a site that doesn't even offer PayPal as a way to pay. Something is fishy here...
