We are pleased to announce a new Firefox extension for Sponsored Tweets. The extension will allow advertisers to quickly identify and hire tweeps that are in the system. Please note that this is version .1 of this extension. If you have issues please drop a note here.

This extension was designed as part of the $7500 Sponsored Tweet Holiday API Challenge. Big ups to @dascgo for putting it together.

You really should offer this extension on mozilla.org so that uses can install from Firefox automatically, and it can be certified as trusted.

I just downloaded and tested the plug-in on 15 twitter users profiles.

It is a little inconsistent and doesn't show the "hire me for $x" if you do a page refresh on the same user, and sometimes doesn't if visiting a users profile for the first time.

@dragon blogger: yeah, we'll get it up on Moz when it's stable and I'll look into the issues you described. There is also an issue when you have multiple tabs open. I'll try to clean up these problems asap.

nice...would love Chrome extension for this too.

BTW, I'd encourage you to add a similar "refer me" link alongside anyone not already registered w/ST. That would allow the advertiser (or anyone using this plugin) to find & refer relevant sponsored tweeters via ST's affiliate program. That would require knowing a user's referral link (either input field or pull from ST), but otherwise pretty simple.

@Davinci - the alpha version of the plugin can be downloaded here: http://box.net/shared/1p46crt4ph. once downloaded, just drag and drop the .xpi file onto Firefox.

This is a great tool. It will expand to a wider range of services I suppose. If Mozilla can have this pre-loaded in newer downloads, it will make real difference.
